hopeful

today was absurdly good! it was quite enjoyable and makes me feel hopeful for the future :) i smiled and laughed and enjoyed spending time with people i never would have thought i would be speaking to again.

i'm not at home right now but i called my baby on the phone and he giggled and told me goodnight, it was really sweet :)

just an idea

I was going over quotes I'd underlined in my books today, and entering them into Evernote. One of them gave me an idea. It's from a book I really liked, The Post-Birthday World by Lionel Shriver.

"I'd never have known the highlights of my life."

Maybe a good deal of these highlights are things that you have to create for yourself. Work good moments into each day, all the time. Creating them purposely would also put it at the front of your mind so that you could remember to enjoy them, rather than looking back at the end of the day and wishing something good had happened.
